In 2011, Tim Bradley, co-founder and co-owner of Barnwood Masters, experienced a life altering accident that prohibited him from returning to traditional work. His son, Micah Bradley encouraged him to use the woodworking skills he retained after the accident to do what he loved most, which is how Barnwood Masters came to be.
We believe we have a responsibility to be stewards of the environment and not take any more away from the limited natural resources available. Reclaiming and repurposing these materials is a way Barnwood Masters can be a green company. Often times, reclaimed barn wood is antique hardwood. This virgin, or first growth lumber is much stronger and superior to the lumber available for purchase at retail stores such as Home Depot, Menards or Lowes.
Barnwood Masters acquires materials by dismantling barns, sheds, and other buildings. These reclaimed materials are then used to build furniture and other decorative pieces.

Wood reclaimed from old barns located throughout the Midwest
Using reclaimed materials from antique barns and other structures to create quality wood products and to supply usable lumber for home and business décor.
Old barns and sheds are reaching their lifespan. Rot and insect damage tend to weaken key structural points in the building, making it slowly come to the ground. However, much of the structure is still in pristine condition. This native virgin hardwood is what Barnwood Masters looks for when hand crafting our product.
Barnwood Masters collects and refines materials from these old barns and sheds by dismantling the structures for the rare and unique lumber. This is done over the course of about a week, depending on the structure. The material is then transported back to the Barnwood Masters shop located in Mentone, IN for the next step of preparation.
At the shop, the lumber is prepped by having the nails removed, and is stacked for storage. As required by jobs, the lumber is kilned to remove moisture and any living organisms in the wood. From there, the wood is ready to be used. Other components such as metal roofing are also reclaimed for potential use.
Barnwood Masters uses these lumber and materials to build high quality custom furnishings and décor for both residential and business markets. These projects range from kitchen cabinets to conference tables. All projects ordered are handcrafted from reclaimed materials for a specific customer in mind.
